Our Story

Cancer affects everyone in some way or another.

C4CR will NEVER give up the fight.

C4CR will NEVER lose faith.

C4CR will ALWAYS be THANKFUL for your continued support.

About C4CR

In 1981, Alma Cohorn, wife of roper Kenneth Cohorn,
passed away to cancer. To honor her memory, Rawley
Jackson, a close family friend and member of the US West
Pioneers Sunshine Club (now QWEST) held a team
roping in her memory. When the dust had settled and the
money was counted by the light of one pickup truck onto
the hood of another, $750 was raised for the day. Their
goal was to raise money for research against this insidious
disease that took the life of a good friend.

Now, 42 years later, Cowboys for Cancer Research has
been dedicated to raise money for immediate use in the
field of Cancer Research. Events like Team Ropings,
Dinner-Dances, Golf Tournaments, and Silent Auctions,
along with the generous donations from people like you,
have helped to develop new research studies and create
new faculty positions that benefit patients directly through
investments made by C4CR.
